The last update for Neil Burger’s THE DARK FIELDS came a couple weeks ago, when we learned that the gorgeous Elizabeth Banks might be eyeing the film, though nothing had been confirmed. Well today we do get a casting confirmation via Variety… But it isn’t for Banks…
Variety are reporting that none other than Robert De Niro will be starring alongside Cooper and Banks (below) in the thriller. Bobby De Niro? Nice! Sure the dude is getting older and doesn’t really know what kind of flicks he wants to make anymore… but he’s still Robert f*cking De Niro! The actor will be playing a ‘brilliant financial mogul who begins pursuing Cooper’s character.’
Story centers on a down-and-out Gotham writer (Cooper) who comes into possession of a designer drug that gives him newfound intelligence and success.
Lensing starts up for THE DARK FIELDS in Philadelphia this May. What says you guys? You down for seeing Cooper and De Niro butt heads in a suspense thriller? I’m a big fan of both these guys. as well as the beautiful Elizabeth Banks, so you can sign me up!
