Child actress Madeleine McGraw did an awesome job in Scott Derrickson’s The Black Phone, which is coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital later this month. And soon after The Black Phone is available on disc, we’ll have the chance to see McGraw in another genre project, as she is in the “paranormal Hitchcockian thriller” The Harbinger, which Screen Media will be giving a theatrical and VOD release on September 2nd. In anticipation of this release, a trailer for The Harbinger has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.
Directed by Will Klipstine, who also wrote the screenplay with Amy Mills, The Harbinger has the following synopsis:
Hoping to escape their past, Daniel and Theresa Snyder move their troubled young daughter Rosalie to a quaint Midwestern town, but they are followed by the evil they tried to leave behind. When locals begin to die, the Snyders turn to a Native American seer and uncover a legend that may hold the key to saving their family, or a path to a grisly end for them and all they hold dear.

McGraw is joined in the cast by Irene Bedard (who provided the voice of Pocahontas for 1995’s Pocahontas), Amanda MacDonald (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Steve Monroe (Promising Young Woman), and Klipstine. Klipstine has almost thirty years of acting credits to his name, and made his feature directorial debut with 2012’s The Evolution of Andrew Andrews, which he also starred in as the title character.
