The Midnight Club images offer a look at Netflix’s next Mike Flanagan series

Genre filmmaker Mike Flanagan and the Netflix streaming service have teamed up to bring us a lot of entertainment in recent years – Hush, Gerald’s Game, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass. Next up is the ten episode series The Midnight Club, based on the 1994 novel by Christopher Pike (buy it HERE). The Midnight Club is scheduled to be released through Netflix on October 7th – and now a batch of images from the show have arrived online to give us an early look at the characters. You can check them out at the bottom of this article.

Created by Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong, who also serve as executive producers alongside Trevor Macy, Julia Bicknell, and Christopher Pike, The Midnight Club has the following synopsis:

At a hospice with a mysterious history, the eight members of the Midnight Club meet each night at midnight to tell sinister stories – and to look for signs of the supernatural from the beyond.

The show stars Adia, Igby Rigney, Ruth Codd, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Annarah Cymone, Iman Benson, and Sauriyan Sapkota as the terminally ill teens. They’re joined in the cast by Zach Gilford, Samantha Sloyan, and Matt Biedel, with Heather Langenkamp on board as a enigmatic doctor.

In addition to the titular book, The Midnight Club‘s writers (Mike Flanagan, Leah Fong, Elan Gale, James Flanagan, and Chinaka Hodge) also drew inspiration from the Pike novels Witch, Gimme a Kiss, Road to Nowhere, The Wicked Heart, and more. Episodes of the show were directed by Flanagan, Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour (Black Box), Axelle Carolyn (Shudder’s Creepshow), Viet Nguyen (Crush the Skull), Morgan Beggs (Once Upon a Time), and Michael Fimognari, who has been the cinematographer on most of Flanagan’s projects.

I always make sure to watch everything Flanagan makes, so I will definitely be bingeing The Midnight Club this Halloween season. Are you looking forward to the show? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
