Best Buy is now accepting pre-orders for their exclusive steelbook release of The Punisher (2004) – which you can watch at THIS LINK. The steelbook has a street date of January 25, 2022 and will contain 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital copies of the film, which stars Thomas Jane as the title character.

Directed by Jonathan Hensleigh from a screenplay by Hensleigh and Michael France, based on the Marvel Comics character, the 2004 version of The Punisher has the following synopsis:

The Punisher walks through the world we all know, a world darkened by war, crime, cruelty, and injustice. He has no superpowers to battle the evil he sees — only his fierce intelligence, his years of combat experience and, above all, his iron determination to avenge those wronged by society’s villains.

Jane is joined in the cast by John Travolta, Will Patton, Roy Scheider, Laura Harring, Ben Foster, and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.

The steelbook release will have the following bonus features:

Audio Commentary with Director Jonathan Hensleigh

Deleted Scenes (with Optional Director Commentary)

Keepin’ It Real: The Punisher Stunts

Army of One: The Punisher Origins

War Journal: On the Set of The Punisher

Music Video – “Step Up” Performed by Drowning Pool

Drawing Blood: Bradstreet Style

The Punisher wasn’t a huge hit when it was released and isn’t one of the most popular comic adaptations out there, so it seems kind of random that it’s getting this Best Buy steelbook release out of nowhere, just in time for its 18th anniversary… but it is a good movie, and the steelbook looks pretty cool. So as odd as this release seems, I’m all for it.

The steelbook’s artwork can be seen below.
