Earlier this week Eric told us all about a flick coming from director Carles Torrens and scribe Rodrigo Cortez, the later of which directed the underrated indie romp BURIED. That project was called EMERGO.

All we really knew was that the film would focus on ‘a team of high-tech para-psychologists who investigate strange goings-on in a newly occupied apartment. The group’s attempts to contact the other side grow increasingly dangerous.’ Now, just in time for the American Film Market, we’ve got a bit more of a clarification:

“Shot entirely in English, ‘Emergo’ is the descendant of ‘The Blair Witch Project’ and ‘Rec,’ but breaks away from tradition by revolutionizing filmmaking altogether. All types of cameras are used – video, HD, 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm – as we follow scientists’ footsteps through a haunted house, casting a frightening spell over the audience. Brace yourself for this terrifying experience!”

There’s a lot of talk in that little paragraph… Here’s hoping EMERGO backs it up!

The film stars Kai Lennox, Michael O’Keffee, Gia Mantegna (below), Rick Gonzalez, Fionna Glascott and Francesc Garrido. It’s due to hit the American Film Market next month so hopefully we get more updates on this one soon.
