A couple weeks ago I told you about the upcoming Guillermo del Toro/Chuck Hogan novel THE STRAIN. At the time the official website had just gone live and it was about time for people to take notice of this bad boy.
Well in case you missed that… or better yet in case you saw that and you’re dying for more info on THE STRAIN… I come to you today with an even bigger update for the book. We’ve got a couple different trailers heading our way from two different sources today! First up we’ve got a trailer coming from Wired titledTHE STRAIN: JAIL. Then we’ve got one heading our way from the guys over at IGN titled THE STRAIN: DOG SHED. You can go ahead and scroll down below to check both of those out.
THE STRAIN is the first of a planned trilogy that deals with a disease attacking the human population and turning everyone into vampires while also tackling the origins of the vampire. Now if the trailers are any indication del Toro’s version of ‘vampire’ will be much unlike any of our interpretations. I’m thinking more along the lines of the crossbreed del Toro created in BLADE 2. See for yourself in the trailers below.
Imagine del Toro eventually bringing these novels to the big screen once his plate is clear around the year 2047? Until then we’ll have to make do with the novels. THE STRAIN is looking to hit shelves next week on June 2nd but can be PRE-ORDERED NOW!
