The Strangers: Chapter 3 Star Madelaine Petsch Talks Trying To Make Up For The Poorly Recieved Second Film With This Final Entry

After nearly two years, we’re finally seeing The Strangers trilogy come to a close. After a mixed reception for the first two films, this really does feel like the end of anything Strangers-related for a while. While I’m one of the few defenders of the first film, I agree with the masses that the second was a mess. So there’s a lot riding on this final entry as to how this trilogy will be viewed overall. My review for The Strangers: Chapter 3 will drop later this week, but I’ll just tease it by saying that I think this is more rewatchable than the last film.

I was fortunate enough to talk to Madelaine Petsch about her final turn in the role of Maya. She addresses the poor reception of the second film and hopes the finality of this third entry will help address some of those critiques. And, with this trilogy being her first experience in the editing bay, she tells us what she learned and what she will take into her other productions. Madelaine has always been one of my favorite interviewees, and here she is, no different. You can check out our full conversation in the video above!

The Strangers Chapter 3 plot:

In the final film of The Strangers trilogy, Maya (Madelaine Petsch) faces the masked killers one last time in a brutal, full-circle reckoning of survival and revenge.

The Strangers Chapter 3 is playing in theaters on February 6th, 2026.
