The UnPopular Opinion: Fantastic Four (2015)

Welcome back to The UnPopular Opinion! The UnPopular Opinion features different takes on films that either I hated, but that the majority of film fans loved or vice versa. We have always hoped this column will promote constructive and geek fueled discussion. Now, with us entering the visual world, you can get pissed off in a whole new medium!

Josh Trank's 2015 reboot of FANTASTIC FOUR was reviled by critics and audiences, becoming one of the biggest bombs in recent memory. Costing Trank the chance to helm a STAR WARS movie, it represents another lost opportunity to bring the iconic Marvel superheroes to the big screen. With Marvel Studios aiming to reboot the franchise one more time, I look back fondly as to what could have been and proclaim FANTASTIC FOUR to be a wildly ambitious and underrated superhero film unlike any others out there.

Oh, and if you have any suggestions for The UnPopular Opinion I’m always happy to hear them. You can send along an email to [email protected] or spell it out in the comments below. Provide me with as many movie suggestions as you like, with any reasoning you'd care to share, and if I agree then you may one day see it featured in this very column!
