Samuel Goldwyn Films will be giving the horror Western The Wolf and the Lamb a theatrical and digital release on April 24th – and with that date just one week away, a trailer has dropped online! You can watch it in the embed above.

What is The Wolf and the Lamb about?

This film marks the feature directorial debut of Michael Schilf, who previously co-wrote the 2024 sports documentary Tracing the Divide. Schilf wrote the screenplay for The Wolf and the Lamb with Miah Smith, crafting the following story:

Jo Beckett is a devoted schoolteacher whose life is upended when her young son mysteriously vanishes. As his eerie behavior spreads paranoia and violence through their rural town, Jo’s desperate search leads her through a maze of folklore, paranoia and faith. Facing hostility from neighbors, local authority figures and her own unraveling grip on reality, she must confront terrifying forces that challenge everything she believes.

As the trailer shows, there’s all sorts of supernatural shenanigans going on here.

Who’s in the cast?

The Wolf and the Lamb stars Cassandra Scerbo (Sharknado), Jaydon Clark (9-1-1: Lone Star), Eric Nelson (1883), Angus Macfadyen (Braveheart), Q’orianka Kilcher (The New World), Sammi Rotibi (Django Unchained), Adrianne Palicki (John Wick), Zach McGowan (Black Sails), Mike Manning (Days of Our Lives), and James Landry Hébert (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), along with the legendary Clint Howard (The Wraith).

The film was produced by Chase Kuker, Jordan Kuker, and Miah Smith of Lunar Door, as well as Nicholas Clark and Jordan Wagner. James Macmillan and Scerbo of One Of One are also producing. Oscar-winner Ve Neill and Manning serve as executive producers.

I always enjoy seeing the horror and Western genres get blended, so The Wolf and the Lamb has my attention and I will be checking this movie out for sure. As movies like Bone Tomahawk and Tremors 4 have proven, horror and Westerns are two great tastes that taste great together.
