If you’ve ever wanted to see Hugo Weaving as a woman, or Jim Sturgess and Hugh Grant as though they were Korean, then this is your lucky day.  There’s not much to say about CLOUD ATLAS at this point that hasn’t already been said – it’s currently sitting at #3 on this site’s list of top five most anticipated films, advance reviews (including one by our own Chris Bumbray) confirming that the huge chance by the Wachowkis has paid off big time, and the trailer still holds up as intense and exciting and wondrous today as it did upon first viewing (both the five minute and the two and a half minute version).

I can only hope that the movie-going public beyond this site sees it fit to reward what has been attempted by CLOUD ATLAS with its money come opening weekend.  Even if the film isn’t a box-office smash hit, it would be nice if the returns were enough to at least prove to the greater studio system that high-concept films driven by character interaction and transformation are a worthy investment.

At this point the only way to know is to wait and find out.  October 26th, my friends.
