Taika Waititi wants to take you on a magical mystery tour through New Asgard in a charming Thor: Love and Thunder featurette. In the video, Waititi takes Marvel fans by the hand and leads them on a journey through adventure, character growth, and dark tidings for the future of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. The footage shows various locations showcased throughout the film, all of which are colorful and add to an already fantastic world. Chris Hemsworth also speaks about his journey as Thor Odinson and how Love and Thunder features a “rebirth” for the character.

Natalie Portman also takes center stage for the Thor: Love and Thunder featurette. She talks about how excited she is to play the Mighty Thor in the new film and share the mantle (and cape) with her co-star. Waititi says the movie is “flamboyant” and “campy,” which falls directly in line with the tone of Thor: Ragnarok. The video also properly introduces Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, Thor’s trusty goats. I’m sure they’ll provide lots of laughs throughout the film and perhaps destroy some of the fancy wardrobes. By the end of the video, it’s clear that everyone had a great time making the movie. I’m confident that the final product will have much of this positive energy, and we can’t wait to see it.

Here’s the official synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder:

“The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.”

Taika Waititi directed Thor: Love and Thunder and wrote the screenplay based on a story by Jennifer Kaylin Robinson. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Tessa Thompson, Pom Klementieff, Russell Crowe, Jamie Alexander, and more.

What do you think about the new Thor: Love and Thunder featurette? Have you pre-ordered your tickets for the opening weekend? Do you think we’ll get another trailer focusing on Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher, or is Marvel purposefully keeping him on the down-low?
