Earlier this year, Meryl Streep's SUFFRAGETTE became the first movie to be filmed inside Britain's House of Parliament, and now it appears MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5 will be the second, according to The Sun newspaper. A source recently told the paper Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie have been granted permission to film the next MISSION IMPOSSIBLE movie in the Palace of Westminster.

MI5 will feature numerous well-known locations in London but the Houses of Parliament is clearly the biggest coup. Tom Cruise will obviously feature heavily in the scenes. You can imagine the writers are excited about what stints they could pull off inside the Commons.

The source goes on to say the filmmakers are also interested in shooting at the Olympic Stadium and The Shard.

The MISSION IMPOSSIBLE franchise has a history of filming in a wide variety of interesting locations (think Vatican City in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 or the Burj Khalifa tower in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL), so I wouldn't be too surprised if this rumor turned out to be true. Not much is known about the next MISSION IMPOSSIBLE movie, however we do know Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg will also be back for the fifth installment. Will the three of them be heading to Parliament in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5? We'll have to wait and see.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5 is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2015.
