Damien Leone is gearing up to bring the Terrifier saga to a close with Terrifier 4, but THR reports that his next project will be Tortures of the Damned, a new original horror film produced by Sam Raimi.

Plot details for the project are being kept under wraps, but sources have said it will strike a different tone from the Terrifier films. Leone has closed a deal to write, direct, and produce the project, which will have a much larger budget than the Terrifier movies. He’ll start work on Tortures of the Damned once Terrifier 4 wraps.

Terrifier 4
Terrifier 4 is currently in pre-production. Leone has said that this will likely be the last entry in the franchise, with the entire mythology finally revealed. The origins of Art the Clown will be explained, with the sequel building to a “batshit insane” finale that I’m sure will be absolutely blood-soaked. The story will take place around New Year’s Eve.
Will Terrifier 4 Really Be the End?
David Howard Thornton, who plays Art, is naturally returning for Terrifier 4, but he’s not convinced this will really be the end of the franchise. Speaking with Slasher Radio, he said, “Is this going to be the true finale? I feel like this might be the finale of this story arc that [Leone]’s going with for right now and might give it a rest for a few years and might return later on to it. I have no idea, but I’m excited nonetheless.” Leone himself has acknowledged that slasher franchises never really seem to end, so the door will likely remain open to more sequels in some form.
