Trailer for Joe Dante-produced Trail of Blood

I must warn you right off the bat that just because this TRAIL OF BLOOD thing was apparently produced by Joe Dante doesn’t mean it will have that Joe Dante feel. Certainly not based on the trailer, which advertises a very low-budget psychological thriller. How Dante involved is a mystery to me; hopefully an explanation will eventually arrive.

In any event, TRAIL OF BLOOD (which we wrote about way back in 2009 and never since) looks to be about a deranged Iraq war veteran giving hell to a group of campers. If that’s not enough for you, peep the official synopsis:

On a weekend camping trip deep in the forest, a young U.S. Marine recruit and his six friends stumble upon the murdered bodies of a vacationing couple. They are mistaken for the killers by a deeply-disturbed war veteran who calls himself the “Angel of Death.” The veteran is determined to teach them the horrors of war through a series of tortuous mind games that leaves Jim and his friends struggling for their lives.

TRAIL OF BLOOD was directed by Justin and Joseph Guerrieri. Lionsgate will distribute this movie on DVD; when is undetermined. For more info, hit up the official site HERE.
