Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Ari Aster's second feature following his hit debut film HEREDITARY starring Toni Collette, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, and Gabriel Byrne, is being released by A24 later this year. The new movie is called MIDSOMMAR and it stars Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, and Will "Almost Pennywise" Poulter.

Yesterday we shared the first poster for the film, which you can check out again below if you missed it. And today we have word that we will finally be able to lay our eyes on the trailer for the movie this Tuesday. Make sure to mark your calendars as this is already a must-see, trailer or not.

Described as an "apocalyptic breakup" movie meets "Scandinavian folk horror" the story centers on

a young woman, already dealing with the death of her parents, who joins her boyfriend and his friends on a trip to Sweden, to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

On top of the above-mentioned cast of Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, Will Poulter, Ari Atser's MIDSOMMAR also features stars such as Vilhem Blomgren, William Jackson Harper, Ellora Torchia, and Archie Madekwe. MIDSOMMAR will be unleashed upon us on August 9, 2019.
