October is just around the corner, and as you know, the month that plays host to Halloween is also the time of year when plenty of new horror films hit the spooky scene. Today brings a trailer for Netflix's new horror film IN THE TALL GRASS, which finds a group of innocents becoming lost inside a lush labyrinth of razor-sharp pasture of which there is seemingly no escape.

Here's the synopsis:

When siblings Becky and Cal hear the cries of a young boy lost within a field of tall grass, they venture in to rescue him, only to become ensnared themselves by a sinister force that quickly disorients and separates them. Cut off from the world and unable to escape the field’s tightening grip, they soon discover that the only thing worse than getting lost is being found.

IN THE TALL GRASS is directed and written by Vincenzo Natali (CUBE, SPLICE), and is based on the novella penned by father and son duo, Stephen King and Joe Hill. The film stars Harrison Gilbertson, Laysla De Oliveira, Avery Whitted, Will Buie Jr., Rachel Wilson, and Patrick Wilson. Handling production for IN THE TALL GRASS are Steven Hoban, Mark Smith, Jimmy Miller, and M. Riley.

I don't know about you, but getting lost in a maze is one of my greatest fears. Sure, you could try cutting your way through or climbing over the obstacles that line the walls, but what if that perplexing puzzle is haunted, and any attempt to cheat your way through leads to certain death? I suppose what I'm trying to say is that I'd probably be the first to go if I were lost among the tall grass in King and Hill's chilling tale. Rest in peace, Galileo.
