Trick ‘r Treat: Quinn Lord (a.k.a. Sam) interviewed just in time for Halloween

We’re in the midst of Halloween season and less than two weeks away from the actual Halloween holiday, which means a whole lot of horror fans out there will soon be taking in viewings of the holiday-themed anthology film Trick ‘r Treat (you can watch it HERE). Just in time for those celebratory viewings, we have a new video interview with Quinn Lord, who played the little pumpkin-headed character Sam in the film when he was just seven years old. Check it out in the embed above!

Written and directed by Michael Dougherty, Trick ‘r Treat tells

five interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband; and a mean old man meets his match with a demonic, supernatural trick-or-treater.

Quinn Lord is joined in the cast by Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, Lauren Lee Smith, Rochelle Aytes, Leslie Bibb, and Brett Kelly.

A Warner Bros. release, Trick ‘r Treat was a bit mishandled by the studio, who sent the film direct to video in October of 2009, nearly two years after its first screening. But it found an appreciative audience once it was widely available; it quickly earned classic status, and many consider Sam to be a genre icon. Since making the film, Michael Dougherty has gone on to direct Krampus and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but we’re still waiting for him to get around to Trick ‘r Treat 2.
