Fans of THE BOONDOCK SAINTS should have little fear that their trilogy wont’ be closed out, as writer/director Troy Duffy recently dropped a title for it; BOONDOCK SAINTS 3: LEGION. According to Flickering Myth, the story will focus on “legions of people taking the law into their own hands and following in the footsteps of the now famous brothers from Ireland.”

Duffy had this to say regarding the third film:

It’s my fault. It’s taken awhile…it’s cause I want to get it right.

The second film was held up because of all sorts of legal (and director) issues, arriving a full 10 years after the first. I’m not holding my breath to get part 3 anytime soon (or ever, for that matter) but from the sound of it, it’ll come eventually. If anything Norman Reedus’ success on The Walking Dead will help bring this to fruition much faster, since he is a name. Time will tell.
