A new episode of our Horror TV Shows We Miss video series has just been released, and in this one we’re looking back at a genre series that ran on HBO for seven seasons: True Blood. To find out what we had to say about True Blood, check out the video embedded above!

Created by Alan Ball, True Blood was based on the Southern Vampire Mysteries novels written by Charlaine Harris. The show begins

after the invention of a synthetic blood product branded “Tru Blood” that has allowed vampires to “come out of the coffin” and let their presence be known to mankind. It chronicles the vampires’ struggle for equal rights and assimilation while anti-vampire organizations begin to gain power.

True Blood stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Chris Bauer, Nelsan Ellis, Jim Parrack, Carrie Preston, Alexander Skarsgård, Todd Lowe, Deborah Ann Woll, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Lauren Bowles, and Joe Manganiello.

The Horror TV Shows We Miss series is all about taking a

nostalgic look back at the genre series that marked us while growing up and that helped shape our love of horror today.

This episode was Written and Narrated by Niki Minter, Edited by Adam Walton, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
