UK poster for Better Watch Out features a weapon both deadly and festive

Back in July, we were able to share the exclusive first look at the poster for the domestic release of director Chris Peckover's holiday horror film BETTER WATCH OUT (formerly known as SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD), which featured a bloody Christmas sweater with an unusual design – snowflakes accompanied by guns, knives, axes, and baseball bats.

A similar ugly sweater is found on the new poster for the film's UK release, and it's being worn by someone toting a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire and glowing Christmas lights. Just because the character might have to beat someone to death doesn't mean they can't be in the holiday spirit while doing so.

Having had the opportunity to see the movie last year, our own Eric Walkuski is thinking BETTER WATCH OUT might receive a "love it or hate it" response when it's released. Written by Peckover and Zack Kahn, the film is

set in a quiet American suburb on a snowy evening on the lead up to Christmas. Ashley (Olivia DeJonge), the regular babysitter for Deandra (Virginia Madsen) and Robert Lerner (Patrick Warburton), has to defend their twelve-year-old son (Levi Miller) from strangers breaking into the house – only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion.

DeJonge, Madsen, Warburton, and Miller are joined in the cast by Ed Oxenbould, Aleks Mikic and Dacre Montgomery.

BETTER WATCH OUT is set to get a VOD and theatrical release in the US on October 6th. The UK release will follow on December 8th, which seems a bit more appropriate.
