Just last week I was telling everyone how THE STRANGERS writer/director Bryan Bertino was getting behind a little genre flick called GRIM NIGHT and now here I am to tell you all that the flick has gone and found itself a studio! Well that didn’t take long, did it?

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog Universal are the lucky ones, having won a bidding war for the hugely intriguing genre flick. Penned by Brandon Bestenheider and Allen Bey, GRIM NIGHT is being produced by Bryan Bertino and his partner Adrienne Biddle via their Unbroken Pictures shingle. Universal’s Marc Platt is also producing.

Grim Night’s conceit is that one night every year, strange creatures attack Earth and kill thousands, targeting different place with no one knowing why. The story centers on a family in small town America that gets attacked and has to defend themselves.

Bertino and company capitalized on PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3’s success by releasing the GRIM NIGHT teaser trailer, which can be found directly below and over in our videos section, to coincide with PA3’s release. Smart move.

That’s about all we’ve got on GRIM NIGHT right now but you can bet we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one so be sure to check back for more updates as they come our way.
