The revival of Unsolved Mysteries on the Netflix streaming service was slowed down a bit by the pandemic, but Netflix is now ready to get back to digging into mysterious events. The streamer has ordered a third volume of the series and they’re aiming to release the new batch of episodes in summer 2022.
A collaboration between the original show’s production company Cosgrove-Meurer Productions and 21 Laps Entertainment, the production company that brings us Stranger Things, the new Unsolved Mysteries
uses re-enactments in a documentary format to profile real-life mysteries and unsolved crimes, lost love, cases involving missing persons and unexplained paranormal events.

The show is executive produced by Terry Dunn Meurer for Cosgrove/Meurer Productions and Shawn Levy and Josh Barry for 21 Laps Entertainment.

This new iteration of Unsolved Mysteries takes a different approach than previous versions did; it only focuses on one mystery per episode (the original show covered multiple mysteries in every episode) and doesn’t have a host. It is often fascinating, though, and Deadline notes that
following the launch of the first twelve episodes, over 5,000 tips have been submitted to the Unsolved Mysteries team. Renewed interest in one case highlighted in the series – the investigation into Alonzo Brooks’ death – encouraged the FBI to reopen the case.
