Men in Black International Tessa Thompson F. Gary Gray

I am in Brazil as I write this article, but unfortunately I was far away from the Comic Con Experience (CCXP) event that was held in São Paulo this past weekend. It sounded like the Comic Con was a great time, with notable moments including the unveiling of a new trailer for GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal surprising fans who had assembled to see the trailer for SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME, and Tessa Thompson appearing on a panel for the new installment in the MEN IN BLACK franchise, MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL.

Sony’s CCXP promotion of MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL is the focus on the video embedded below, which offers a glimpse of the booth that was set up for the film, the “immersive photo op train” fans could sit in, the alien creatures that were on hand to take pictures with people, and Thompson’s time on stage during the Sony panel.

Directed by F. Gary Gray from a screenplay by IRON MAN’s Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL stars Thompson and her THOR: RAGNAROK co-star Chris Hemsworth, along with Liam Neeson as their boss and Emma Thompson as her MEN IN BLACK III character Agent O.

The story is about

Tessa’s character Em trying to prove herself by joining the London MIB and being paired with the former ace Agent H, played by Hemsworth. The pair becomes involved in a murder mystery that has them traveling the globe.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, star of the previous three MEN IN BLACK movies, are not in this one, but the cast does include Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, and twin dancers Laurent and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois.

Produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, with Steven Spielberg executive producing, MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL is heading toward a June 14, 2019 release.
