Looks like director Jonathan Levine's zombie-comedy flick WARM BODIES is heading to the small screen via Lionsgate. This project is part of Levine's new production banner Megamix which he recently launched with former Lionsgate exec Gillian Bohrer. And so the banner has fittingly has signed a first-look deal with Lionsgate that includes both film and TV projects.

Levine said in a statement:

Lionsgate is the perfect home for Megamix, a studio to both my most successful and favorite moviemaking experiences. Joe and Nathan have been great collaborators and friends who have supported me over the years and are as committed as Gillian and I are to nurture unique, creative and commercial visions and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

Bohrer added:

Jonathan and I have a shared passion for movies that defy the conventional wisdom about what defines a ‘commercial movie.’ I loved the diverse slate of projects I was able to shepherd at Lionsgate, and we're delighted to bring Megamix to a company that believes in taking risks.

The original film was released in 2013 and followed:

A terrible plague has left the planet's population divided between zombies and humans. An unusual zombie named R (Nicholas Hoult) sees his walking-dead brethren attacking a living woman named Julie (Teresa Palmer) and rescues her. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and the pair embark on an unusual relationship. As their bond grows and R becomes more and more human, a chain of events unfolds that could transform the entire lifeless world.

Levine (ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE) directed WARM BODIES from a screenplay he wrote based on the novel by Isaac Marion. David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman, Bruna Papandrea produced and the flick starred Nicholas Hoult (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD), Teresa Palmer (LIGHTS OUT), Rob Corddry (HOT TUB TIME MACHINE), Dave Franco, and John Malkovich.
