Now I am a big fan of URBAN LEGEND. Hate me, poke me with sticks, do what you must, but I really dug the flick. I think it’s one of the best slashers out there. I just really liked how they incorporated urban legends into the plot and all. Plus Jared Leto is cool (and not only because we share the same name.). Well Jamie Blanks, the man who directed URBAN LEGEND (VALENTINE and SILENT NUMBER too for that matter) is at it again, this time with STORM WARNING. Now after reading up on STORM WARNING and watching the trailer, it doesn’t seem like the slasher type film Blanks is used to, but it doesn’t stray far.
STORM WARNING is about a couple who go on a nice boat trip. Unfortunately for them, their engine breaks down and they have to ask for help from a couple of very shady characters. STORM WARNING stars Nadia Farès (below), John Brumpton, Robert Taylor, David Lyons, Mathew Wilkinson, Jonathan Oldham .
After checking out the trailer, this flick doesn’t look half bad. I was skeptical at first, but the sheer violence of the trailer really caught my attention. This one looks like it’s going to have a shitload of gruesome gore. Dimension Films has distribution rights, but to my knowledge, there’s no release date yet here in the US. It will be premiering at Screamfest though, which runs from October 12-21 in Hollywood. Meanwhile you can check out the trailer over at the official website.
