As reported last month, STAR WARS will not be the only film to open on December 18th as the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler vehicle SISTERS will look to scoop up anyone NOT in a galaxy far, far away. Directed by Jason Moore (PITCH PERFECT), the story will focus on two disconnected sisters who are summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom. After what I'm sure is to be some heavy reminiscing, the two throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates in hopes of recapturing the spirit of their glory days. Universal just unleased their first, albeit brief, look at what kind of shenanigans Fey and Poehler will get into.

While this tease is exactly that, there were a few moments that put a smile on my face. I very much enjoy the two actresses on their own and when you put them together, you have a pretty killer combo. Speaking of, if any of you tuned into the Golden Globes last night, you got to see that combo in action. If not, no worries, as I've included their opening monologue for you below. One of the aspects I really dig about those two working together is that they have no qualms in pointing out Hollywood absurdities, and it's almost as if they're writing jokes just to amuse themselves. Not all of them hit, but I appreciated them none-the-less. Here's hoping that SISTERS capitalizes on their charisma.

SISTERS, starring Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, John Leguizamo and John Cena, will land in theaters on December 18.
