Watchmen Characters

It was just a couple weeks ago where I told you about WATCHMEN wrapping, with over a year until release. Well when the exact year away mark hit a few hours ago, director Zack Snyder gave us all a treat via the websites official blog. Here’s what he had to say:

“Here we are, officially one year and counting until the release of Watchmen on 03.06.09. Being a fan that follows production blogs, I know that the time a film is in post can often seem like an eternity with interesting bits of information few and far between. So to help pass the time, here is your first look at some of the Watchmen characters.” -Zack

A pretty damn cool treat! Above and below you’ll see some new stills from the pic from Mr. Snyder. The stills show a handful of the characters from WATCHMEN.

Above you’ll see Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian and below, in this order, we’ve got Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl, Matthew Goode as Ozymandias, Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach, Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre II, and then I threw up another picture of Malin Akerman… well because it’s Malin Akerman! Man is she gorgeous.

I don’t know about you, but I think these shots look pretty badass, especially that madman above. I really didn’t think much of WATCHMEN at first, but after checking this out I’m definately looking forward to it. I love the gritty, dark feel they’ve got going on.

The synopsis reads: When an ex-superhero is murdered, a vigilante named Rorshach begins an investigation into the murder, which begins to lead to a much more terrifying conclusion. The script, by David Hayter and Alex Tse, is based off the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. As mentioned, Zack Snyder will be directing. The release date is set exactly one year from now, March 6, 2009.

One of my favorite females in Hollywood – Malin Akerman
