IFC Films gave the entertaining horror comedy Werewolves Within a theatrical release last Friday, June 25th, with an On Demand and Digital release following this Friday, July 2nd. The film boasts a great cast, and in the video embedded above our own JimmyO has conducted interviews with cast members Sam Richardson, Michaela Watkins, and Michael Chernus. Directed by Josh Ruben from a screenplay by Mishna Wolff, Werewolves Within is based on an Ubisoft multiplayer VR video game (you can buy the game at THIS LINK) that was set in a medieval village. The film takes the basic concept and moves it into modern day, taking the werewolf mystery to the small, snowbound American town of Beaverfield. The film's synopsis:
After a proposed gas pipeline creates divisions within the small town of Beaverfield, and a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local inn, newly arrived forest ranger FINN and postal worker CECILY must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.
In addition to the actors interviewed above, the cast includes Milana Vayntrub, George Basil, Sarah Burns, Catherine Curtin, Wayne Duvall, Harvey Guillén, Rebecca Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson, and Glenn Fleshler.
Richardson also produced the film with Ubisoft's Jason Altman, Margaret Boykin, and Andrew Lieberman, and Vanishing Angle's Matt Miller, Natalie Metzger, and Benjamin Wiessner.
Werewolves Within is the second feature for director Ruben. He made his feature directorial debut with last year's horror comedy Scare Me, which is also worth a look. You can watch Scare Me HERE.
