FX has never waited very long to order new seasons of their vampire comedy series What We Do in the Shadows. They ordered season 2 while the first season was still airing, ordered season 3 while the second was airing, and ordered season 4 before 3 even made its premiere. Season 4 is scheduled to premiere on July 12th – and FX has already gone ahead and given fans the reassuring news that they have renewed What We Do in the Shadows for seasons 5 and 6.

Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX, sent out the following statement:

There’s a lot of life left in our favorite vampires from Staten Island and FX couldn’t be more thrilled to commit to two additional seasons of this phenomenal series. What We Do in the Shadows excels on every level, from the brilliant cast and surprising guest stars to the producers, writers, directors and crew. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy season four, knowing that the next two are on the way.”

A spin-off from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s horror-comedy mockumentary film of the same title, What We Do in the Shadows centers on

three vampires who live together: Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) — the former two are husband and wife. Also living with them is a fourth vampire named Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), who’s an “energy vampire.” Instead of blood, he sucks the energy out of his victims by boring them to death with mundane anecdotes and bad jokes. The office is his feeding ground, but his powers also work on his vampire roomies.

What We Do in the Shadows is executive produced by Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, Paul Simms, Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, and Garrett Basch.
