It’s supposed to be “The Big Bad Wolf”, not “The Shirtless Teenage Wolfboy”.
But that might be what’s coming, if we’re to believe what The L.A. Times is saying regarding that Warner Bros.-produced LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD movie we last told you about in August. (Although it’s – quite stupidly, if you ask me – being called THE GIRL WITH THE RED RIDING HOOD.) Apparently a new script by ORPHAN screenwriter David Leslie Johnson has everyone atwitter (people are comparing it to SHUTTER ISLAND in terms of it being a classy take on B-movie material), and the studio is attempting to attach new “It Girl” Amanda Seyfried. TWILIGHT director Catherine Hardwicke is already attached, but that’s not a 100% done deal yet. According to the Times, we should know whether or not this thing has the green light in a matter of weeks.
The story details are are being kept under wraps – if you ignore what you already know about the tale. The buzz is that it’ll be “modern”, “gothic”, and “dark”. In addition, it’ll also be “dangerous” and “romantic”, two things that, for a movie studio eying a PG-13 rating, don’t really mean what they should.
