Will Brittain flies to Kong: Skull Island

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I can't say I'm familiar with Will Brittain, an up-and-coming actor who had roles in the student affair drama A TEACHER and the Viola Davis/Jennifer Lopez revenge thriller LILA & EVE, but he's about to reach a much wider audience than he has to date, as he just landed one of the last key roles to be cast in KONG: SKULL ISLAND.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Derek Connolly, and Dan Gilroy, the film will follow

a team of explorers venturing on an island inhabited by monsters.

Brittain's character will be one of at least three pilots in the movie, with the other two being played by Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell. Co-star Samuel L. Jackson mentioned getting helicopter lessons on the set as well.

The cast also includes Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Tom Wilkinson, Thomas Mann, John Ortiz, and Shea Whigham. Definitely an impressive bunch that I'm looking forward to seeing in action.

SKULL ISLAND is still a way off in the distance, though. Although it's currently filming, it's not set to reach theatres until March 10, 2017.

A Legendary Pictures production, this KONG film shares its cinematic universe with Legendary's 2014 GODZILLA movie. Its release will be followed by GODZILLA 2 on June 8, 2018, and then a rematch fifty-eight years in the making, 2020's GODZILLA VS. KONG.
