Will Seth Rogen belt some tunes out for Rock of Ages?

Is Seth Rogen ready to rock?

The Toronto Star is reporting that Rogen is being considered for the role of Lonny in ROCK OF AGES. In the broadway musical, Lonny is the record producer/narrator of the story.

For those who haven’t heard of the musical, it’s the tale of small town girl meets aspiring hair rocker boy set against the backdrop of the 80’s. The pair go through the motions of their relationship through many of the hits songs of the decade. The cast will rock through the Sunset Strip to tunes from Warrant, Styx, Poison, Mr. Big, Whitesnake, Journey, and many others. Adam Shankman (HAIRSPRAY, BEDTIMES STORIES) will direct the film.

Rogen apparently attended a showing on “Rock of Ages” a few days ago and was telling people he was, “just there to enjoy the show”.

I’ve never seen the musical, but I am certainly down for anything involving 80’s hair bands (Whitesnake!!!). Now, I obviously don’t consider Journey a hair band. “Don’t Stop Believin'” was a top ten hit in 1982 and one of the best drunken karaoke songs of all time. The film is slated to release in 2011.
