Witness the destruction of Metropolis and Superman’s rage face in the latest Man of Steel TV spot

With each successive TV spot and trailer, we have seen more and more of the world that Zack Snyder has created for MAN OF STEEL. Krypton looks different, Metropolis looks different, and Superman looks different. This truly looks like a vision of the iconic character we have not seen before and I couldn’t be more excited.

This latest TV spot gives a glimpse at the Black Zero spaceship, presumably piloted by Faora or Zod, as it lays waste to downtown Metropolis. We previously saw Laurence Fishburne running from the collapsing Daily Planet building and now we see what caused it. Along with that we also see Superman screaming as he flies towards something. We haven’t seen an emotional big screen Superman since Christopher Reeve reversed the rotation of the planet way back in the day. It is nice to know the MAN OF STEEL take on Kal-el will feature his less controlled side.

I think it was best said by my wife when she watched these TV spots and said that this take on Superman doesn’t look corny. By all means, MAN OF STEEL is following the Nolan path we have been promised by David Goyer. It is going to be the most realistic portrayal possible for Superman and that is looking more and more possible with each additional look at the film.

MAN OF STEEL stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, and Russell Crowe. It opens everywhere on June 14, 2013.
