The holiday season is here and DC doesn't want you to forget what they have in store for you come 2017! Entertainment Weekly just debuted a new image that may or many not require a bit information, depending on how fluent you are with Wonder Woman comics. No worries, as we have you covered! The following picture features Wonder Woman at the moment that she disobeys her mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), and breaks into the heavily guarded armory of Themyscira to steal the “god killer” before heading over to Europe to help save humanity. Neat!

Director Patty Jenkins on the above image:

This is her moment. She’s heard all the terrible things about man’s land. But she’s also heard that mankind is in need and under duress. This is her great moment to make the decision to be the one to try and save them.

While I'd hardly consider DAWN OF JUSTICE or SUICIDE SQUAD a success on any level, I will say that it was kind of genius to introduce Wonder Woman has a total badass BEFORE going back and delivering her origin story. Granted, she's going to be a total badass in her solo film too, but now we have the opportunity to see HOW she became that hero. I can't wait!

WONDER WOMAN will open in theaters on June 2, 2017.
