What is with the supernatural westerns lately? A little less than a year ago it seemed like we were getting a massive wave of vampire flicks… now it seems the cool thing is supernatural westerns.
Joining the onslaught of genre westerns is CALIBER. CALIBER is a comic that looks to be making it’s debut later this month at ComicCon.
CALIBER sees King Arthur and his knights as 19th century gunslingers in the Pacific Northwest. That’s all we’re given plot wise from Variety, but they also dropped word that one John Woo will be directing!
CALIBER is being produced by Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil, Barry Levine’s Radical Comics and Woo’s Lion Rock. Though there’s absolutely no talk of Johnny Depp starring… can you see him as a medieval gunslinger? I can see Depp playing any role and would love to see him in something like this… so here’s hoping that’s a possibility. Not to mention the fact that I’m a huge fan of anything medieval, so color me intrigued.
Woo has a load of films on his plate as of right now, so CALIBER doesn’t seem to be starting production anytime soon. We’ll keep you updated.
Westerns involve cowboy hats… she’s wearing a cowboy hat and not much else… works for me.
