It seems there’s an intriguing little post-apoclyptic thriller out there that’s be flying under our radar. I’m talking about a flick called THE DAY, which had Douglas Aarniokoski in the director’s chair. Before I get into today’s news let me give you all a better idea of what we’ve got with THE DAY.
THE DAY centers on five survivors over 24 hours who struggle to make a last stand with food and ammunition running out.
So there’s that. The cast includes Shawn Ashmore, Ashley Bell, Michael Eklund, Cory Hardrict, Dominic Monaghan and Shannyn Sossamon (below). You may recognize a few of those names.
Well after THE DAY kicked ass at it’s Midnight Madness showing at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival it only took WWE Studios 18 hours to snatch this one up. Sounds like we may have something worth checking out here.
There’s no telling when THE DAY will be coming our way but it’s nice to see WWE Studios branching out a bit and picking up flicks that don’t star professional wrestlers. As soon as any news on THE DAY comes spreading our way you can be sure we’ll pass that shite along to all of you.
