The X-Men movie franchises are on everyone's mind today with the news that Channing Tatum will be playing Gambit and the X-Men and The Fantasic Four will not be putting people to sleep with a crossover. So do you want to hear about DEADPOOL? I knew that you would.

If there’s one thing she is besides being creative and smart, producer Lauren Shuler Donner is very honest. As you will see in the video below, she tells us to act like WOLVERIN ORIGINS (underwhelming) didn't happen and to forget about X-MEN: THE LAST STAND (killing off key characters). Done and done.

HeyUGuys asked her about the DEADPOOL movie, a project that’s been up in the air forever:

"We so want to make it. We’re getting there. I think it will, but one thing now is the rating," Donner explained. "If we make it a smaller budget movie, we can go for the R-Rating. If not, then we push the boundaries of PG-13 which is alright too. We just don’t want to saturate the market to the point where it’s just not special anymore."

Ryan Reynolds did a great job with the character, and thankfully Donner went on to confirm that Reynolds is still attached to star and that she can’t see anyone else taking on the role.

I love it when Hollywood is honest with us, and she just laid out some hard truths to take away and to be prepared with when and if they ever unleash a DEADPOOL movie on us. In the right hands, I’m sure it would make for a great R-rated flick, how else are we going watch an assassin and mercenary kick ass?

Do you think they can make a DEADPOOL movie work?
