Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead: new trailer released for Netflix movie

Zack Snyder let the world know that a new trailer for Army of the Dead, his return to the zombie sub-genre seventeen years after he made his feature directorial debut with the Dawn of the Dead remake (watch it HERE), would be arriving online today. The information panned out, because the trailer can now be seen in the embed above! Check it out, and get ready for Army of the Dead to reach the Netflix streaming service on May 21st.

Written by Snyder with Joby Harold and Shay Hatten, Army of the Dead is an adventure film that takes place after

a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, where a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble: venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. 

Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Huma Qureshi, Raúl Castillo, Omari Hardwick, Tig Notaro, Hiroyuki Sanada, Nora Arnezeder, Matthias Schweighöfer, Rich Cetrone, Garret Dillahunt, and Samantha Win star.

Snyder produced the film with Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller.  

Army of the Dead is rated R for "strong bloody violence, gore and language throughout, some sexual content and brief nudity/graphic nudity".

This film is the first entry in a franchise. Netflix is already working on as prequel that was directed by Schweighöfer and centers on his character Ludwig Dieter, and the anime series Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, which will serve as an origin story for Bautista's character Scott.
