Itching to be the first on your block to own a 3D TV and Blu-ray player? Well then hop in your penis-shaped car and head to Best Buy, the first retailer to offer the gimmick-heavy technology!

According to an article on Blu-ray.com, starting today, "Panasonic's Full HD 3D Home Theater System will be exclusively available at select Best Buy Stores via Magnolia Home Theater." The system, which retails at $2899.99, includes a 50" Panasonic VIERA VT20 Plasma 3D HDTV, one pair of Panasonic 3D Active Shutter Lens Eyewear, and the Panasonic BDT300 3D Blu-ray Disc Player. An additional pair of specs will set you back $149.95 (!).

The article also outlines Samsung's home theater systems, whose "entry level 46-inch 3D model, the LN46C750, is coming in May for $1,700," while the lineup also "includes the LED 7000/8000/9000 Series, LCD 750 Series, and the Plasma 7000/8000 Series."

Sony, meanwhile, will launch their 3D TVs in Japan this June, with sets anticipated in the U.S. later in the calendar. The 46-inch model will cost 350,000 yen.

What do you Schmoes think? Are you eager to test out/own this new technology? Or is it still as gimmicky as some continue to insist?
