I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm psyched for THE HAPPENING. It's been a long time since we've had a smart, well made, R-rated thriller but that's what M. Night Shyamalan is delivering this June. If you haven't been convinced by what you've seen so far (the trailer or the teaser), prepare to be convinced. JoBlo.com and Arrow in the Head are extremely proud to bring you this exclusive first look at the R-rated teaser trailer for THE HAPPENING!

Sometimes you see a red-band trailer that isn't that much different than the regular trailer save for a curse word or two. You don't have to worry about that here. There is some gruesome stuff going down in this clip. I don't want to spoil anything because I didn't know what to expect going in and I was floored by what I saw! I'm just not knowing what to make of this film. It looks really fucking freaky and disturbing, but I'm just not sure I can trust M. Night anymore. He gained me with SIXTH, totally fucking blew my mind with UNBREAKABLE, but then lost me with SIGNS. And THE VILLAGE and LADY IN THE WATER didn't help his case any.

Mmm... Zooey.

Im sorry, Night lost me on the village and lady, I dont think theres no coming back, even this red band trailer did not make me happy, the only thing that could save this is marky mark...

I think that M. Night is really talented, but like Stephen King, he has a really big problem concluding his stories in a satisfying way. All his movies has at least one major plot hole that damages the quality of the movie which is a shame because I love every single plot that he has written. This trailer is very good and there is no doubt that I will go see it. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure ...

Never been to big of an Shyamalan fan to begin with...and after I read the script for this one...just, the whole explanation of it just made me shake my head...I'll wait for it on DVD.

I see a cool movie. . .
Looks nice visually, especially that angle up shot of the bodies falling.

It is bloodier than I expected from Shamma, too.

I love the man; great eye, good writer, not afraid to take risks or leave his old stuff behind while taking some auteur moves with him.

I will have a tough decision on the 13th of June: Norton or Shamma? Shamma or Norton?

DAMN! Now that was good. I forwarded this to all my co-workers in the office and they loved it. Great way to start of my Friday morning.

Although I did hear a while back that this movie is not what we expect at all, and that it will 'piss us off'. (Oh wait, wasn't that Lady in the Water?) But really, I am looking forward to this now.

This looks super rad,
however I still haven't forgiven M. Night for that trash can The Village, so I'm going to have to actually see it before I can cast aside my bad 'tude towards the big "M".

Looks Good
I'm getting a surreal Japanese horror movie vibe , mainly of the Kurosawa Kairo variety , and it looks excellent .

I didn't think it would be this violent or bloody , but so far it looks like a nice blend of gore , violence , suspense and mood .

Yeah I've said for a while that this movie was gonna be something to look forward to. This trailer confirmed it. Brings the feel back to the old M. Night movies too.
