Last week Jake Dee did us all a solid by dropping the news that Academy Award winner Emma Thompson would be toplining Richard LaGrevenese’s upcoming adaptation BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. Now personally I take this as a great sign. I mean, a two-time Academy Award winner wouldn’t sign on to star in just anything right? Hopefully this means BEAUTIFUL CREATURES has some substance!
The news dropping today on the feature gives us an exact date on when we’ll be able to find out! Alcon have just tapped BEAUTIFUL CREATURES with a February 1, 2013 release date. That’s nearly a year away folks. Plenty of time to get us stoked for this one, right? Man I hope so.
BEAUTIFUL CREATURES is set in the South about two star-crossed teenage lovers – a local boy, and a mysterious new girl who uncover dark secrets about their families, their history and their town.
Along with Thompson (below), the film will also star Viola Davis, Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert. BEAUTIFUL CREATURES starts filmikng this April in New Orleans so expect a lot more updates on this shite once things get rolling.
