Apollo 18 and Final Destination 5 do the release date shuffle

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Just last month we learned that Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego’s found-footage flick APOLLO 18 was being pushed back an entire year and now here I am to tell you all that it’s moving back on up! But that’s not all!

It seems both APOLLO 18 and Steve Quale’s FINAL DESTINATION 5 are both finding themselves with new release dates on this fine Thursday morning. FINAL DESTINATION 5, which was previously set to hit us on August 26th, will now be smashing it’s way into theaters come August 12th. Not a huge move but we’ll take it!

FINAL DESTINATION 5 follows a man who saves a group of people from an accident involving a suspension bridge. Unsurprisingly, this group of unsuspecting souls were never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.

Meanwhile APOLLO 18, which was set to hit theaters on January 6, 2012, will now be dropping into theaters come August 26th. You know… Since the spot is free’d up and all. Quite the move there, huh? I wonder what that whole move to 2012 was about.

APOLLO 18 is purported to be footage from a secret and covert mission to the moon which ends up in revealing evidence of new lifeforms. According to sources, the majority of the story takes place in the rocket in between the Earth and the Moon.

So there you have it folks! FINAL DESTINATION 5, which stars Tony Todd, Emma Bell, Nick D’Agosto, Courtney B. Vance, David Koechner, Miles Fisher, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (below), P.J. Byrne, Ellen Wroe and Arlen Escarpeta, will be hitting theaters on August 12th with APOLLO 18 following a couple weeks later on August 26th! Keep it here for anything and everything that comes our way regarding the two flicks in the coming months.
