Christian Bale flys to Aurora, Colorado to visit the victims of last week's shooting

In the wake of the unconscionable tragedy in Aurora, Colorado last Friday - which left 12 dead and 58 others wounded - Batman himself, Christian Bale (who asked that the media NOT be told that he was coming), took it upon himself to visit the victims of the shooting this week. No orders, no studio mandates, we're told Bale felt compelled to do this all on his own. A pretty stand up move, no doubt!

Of course, with the international press circuit for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES cut short, Bale had ample time to make such a visit. No telling how much, if at all, the online petition that apparently went online last week urging the star of the movie that was playing when the massacre took place, make such a visit, weighed on Bale's decision to fly out to Colorado. Whatever the motivation, it's something Bale did not have to do. In fact, he did it quietly, sans any self-promotion or loud proclamations.

Before the trip however, Bale issued the following statement:

"Words cannot express the horror that I feel...I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."

Amen CB, amen!

Sitting here right now, looking at these pictures, reading this story, and fighting off tears. Awesomely graceful and selfless move by Christian Bale. Glad to see someone putting the focus where it belongs. On the victims!

People need heroes, we want heroes. It is rare to see people that brave to put themselves out there do something like visit fans who were shot trying to watch his movie. So simple, but something that makes the public opinion of him improve. Everyone knows he's an Asshole, but he's a good goddamn Batman dammit.

I gotta say it!

Am personally VERY HAPPY that the parasitic Hollywood press is finally giving love to "good": Christian " I don't need to be more famous, am doing this cause I care" Bale going in to meet the Colorado victims. As opposed to evil "What Adult site James "I want to beat you with an aluminum bat" Holmes was whacking off to. Bout fucking time! When a crime like this happens, the press always seems to focus more on the killer (the one that doesn't matter), than the victims (the ones that do matter).

Good on ya Bale!
