Dark Sky Films snatches up rights to Argentinian horror Cold Sweat

So it seems that Argentinian genre flick COLD SWEAT made quite the impression at this year’s South by Southwest Festival huh? So much so that Dark Sky Films have gone and snatched up the North American rights for that shite! Nice!

According to a recent press release Dark Sky Films and MPI Media Group are planning a Fall 2011 theatrical release for COLD SWEAT followed by a release on DVD and Video-on-Demand. MPI’s Greg Newman had the following to say regarding the pick-up: “[Director] Adrian [García Bogliano] has been making innovative films for over a decade, and with COLD SWEAT he has delivered a highly original and unforgettable entry in the horror genre. This film is a pure crowd pleaser.”

Well that’s nice to hear. Scope out the rundown on this shindig:

When Roman’s girlfriend disappears he expects to find her in the arms of another man. And find her he does but there is no lover on the scene, only a pair of crazy old men keeping her locked away in the basement of their crumbling mansion. Armed with wild-eyed political ideals and case after case of decades-old and highly unstable dynamite. The villainous duo are conducting illicit experiments on a string of young women lured to their home via the internet and if Roman cannot free his young love she is likely to end up in pieces, thanks in part to a generous slathering of nitro-glycerine.

Apparently COLD SWEAT has a couple of pretty twisted villains at it’s core. All good in my book! The flick sports a cast that includes Facundo Espinosa, Marina Glezer, Camila Velasco (below), Omar Musa and Noelia Vergini. Below you’ll find a brand new still from the Adrian García Bogliano directed flick to celebrate the announcement.

Now unfortunately a solid release date for COLD SWEAT (SUDOR FRIO) is yet to be announced but you can bet as soon as that news comes our way we’ll pass the good word along to all of you.
