DLB does Abattoir

We got some pretty exciting news coming out of the San Diego Comic Con International this morning, something so exciting that I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about it soon. The Con goes down in just 2 weeks from today, and according to Radical Publishing, film director Darren Lynn Bousman will be there signing copies of ABATTOIR, the latest horror comic he had a hand in writing!

And by hand, I mean he wrote the whole thing. Bousman, as you’ll recall, is responsible for half of the SAW series, not to mention last year’s cult classic REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA. The man’s no stranger to horror, and this latest comic looks like what what we’ve come to expect from the man.

What’s ABATTOIR about, you ask? ABATTOIR chronicles real estate agent Richard Ashwalt, assigned the impossible task of cleaning up after a brutal massacre takes place at a mansion. As he cleans the blood-soaked grounds, a twisted old man journeys to the house with a sinister and terrifying purpose, and Richard is drawn into a web of shadows, murders and massacres that will shatter him to his very core…and make him run for his life.

Hells yeah. I can just see Bousman’s visual style all over this mofo. There’s some speculation that ABATTOIR may be his next directorial effort as well, after he wraps up MOTHER’S DAY for Lionsgate. Now how cool would that be? It’s a little early to call that one, but considering he wrote the damn thing… I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the reaction is before we even think about the next steps!
