ZOMBIE DIARIES – November 18th

No matter what this flick does it will always be compared to George A. Romero’s DIARY OF THE DEAD. I mean, it’s in the name–there can be only so many zombie flicks out there with the word DIARIES (or DIARY) in it! Hopefully this will be the last of that trend. That said, this cover is pretty badass–if the move lives up to this, I think we’re gonna be instore for a real treat!

    MILLENNIUM: SEASONS 1 – 3 – October 28th

Some people are goo-goo over MILLENNIUM like they were goo-goo over THE X-FILES when it was on TV. I remember liking MILLENNIUM about 10 years ago when it was on FOX, but not enough to blow my load on this announcement of the first three seasons together to own in one box set. Where there more than three seasons? I guess I didn’t remember it lasting longer than that–or maybe that’s when I stopped watching the show altogether. Either way, it’s coming at ya now!

    The Goods:

  • Anamorphic widescreen
  • English Dolby Digital 5.1
  • 18 Discs
  • Season 1 Pilot with Commentary by Creator/Writer/Executive Producer Chris Carter
  • Episode: Gehenna with Commentary by Director David Nutter
  • Dead Letters Featurette
  • The Turn of the Tide: Making of Season 2

LAST MAN ON EARTH–IN COLOR – October 21st

I don’t know what the deal is with making black and white movies color–why not just leave them in black and white? Are there really that many people out there who prefer to see black and white movies colorized than in their original black and white format? The colors are always a bit off, people are generally sporting something that’s not quite skin-tone, and everything just looks fake! But maybe that’s just me. Maybe you dig your B&W in color. If you do, grab some original I AM LEGEND for ya ass later next month.

    The Goods:

  • Anamorphic widescreen
  • English Dolby Digital 5.1
  • Restored Black & White Version

    SHIVER – October 28th

I was excited when I first saw this because I thought it was for David Cronenberg’s long lost masterpiece SHIVERS finally coming to DVD. But it’s not SHIVERS (plural)–it’s SHIVER (singular) and now I’m gonna be depressed for the rest of the day. I’ve heard some great things about this little French flick, but that doesn’t meant I’m still not extremely dissapointed. Boo. You should check out SHIVERS though, that movie’s awesome.

    The Goods:

  • Anamorphic widescreen
  • English Dolby Digital 5.1

    DVD Covers:

    Honorable Mentions:

DEAD SPACE: DOWNFALL –October 28th – Because it’s animated zombies in space–do you need another reason?

PATRICK –October 28th – Because this cover is creepy and it’s only rated PG–that’s f*cked up!

DEVIL BAT October 21st – Because it stars horror legend Bela Legosi doing what he does best–playing a vampire.
