We've been treated to a handful of imagery from FX's upcoming small screen adaptation of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan's "The Strain" over the past couple of months and today we have our first look at some new character images featuring David Bradley as Abraham Setrakian, Sean Astin as Jim Kent, Mia Maestro as Nora Martinez and Corey Stoll as Ephraim Good Weather.
Everything we've seen so far from "The Strain" is pointing towards something special that has, at the very least, the potential to bring vampires back to their most terrifying roots.
Here's what the series will be about:
The Strain is a high-concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
"The Strain" is scheduled to premiere this summer and stars Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro, Sean Astin, Roger Cross, Leslie Hope, Regina King, Robert Maillet, Lauren Lee Smith, Miguel Gomez, Kevin Durand, David Bradley, and Richard Sammel.
