Is Warner Bros. scrambling to convert Clash of the Titans into 3D?

Last Updated on July 26, 2021

The AVATAR effect is keeping Hollywood on its toes. Reports are coming in that Warner Bros. is considering turning CLASH OF THE TITANS – which comes out on MARCH 26th – into a 3D product. Now is as good a time as any? I guess?

Warners has ordered a 3D test of the film — set for release on March 26 — and will screen the converted scenes next week before deciding whether to make the move. Studios across Hollywood are looking into possible 3D conversions in the aftermath of the big box office bonanza called “Avatar.”

Does this seem crazy to anyone else? The movie comes out in about two months. This decision probably should have been made about, I dunno, a year ago. The way I see it, if it wasn’t envisioned as a 3D project to begin with, then it should not be released as one.

3D or not, this is what CLASH OF THE TITANS is all about: The ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades, vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades (Ralph Fiennes) before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

CLASH stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Nicholas Hoult, Alexa Davalos, Danny Huston, Pete Postlethwaite, Jason Flemyng, Mads Mikkelsen, and Izabella Miko (pictured below).
