It’s Alive to DVD

Remakes for classic horror films are blasphemous enough, remaking one then having the remake shot straight to DVD without any theatrical love? That shit’s just ridiculous… and is the case with the upcoming remake of IT’S ALIVE.

According to First Look Studios, the remake starring Bijou Phillips and James Murray will be hitting DVD shelves October 6, 2009. It’s a damn shame… not that I’d like to see the film succeed, but the fact that it’s sort of a blow to the original film. What, it’s good enough for a remake, but not good enough for a remake gone theatrical? What the hell?

The remake, directed by Josef Rusnak, goes a little something like this: When a young woman (Bijou Phillips) learns that she is pregnant, she leaves graduate school to set up a home with her boyfriend in the country. The fate of the happy new family takes a gruesome turn when animals and people end up brutally dead – all with a strange connection to their newborn. Could their new child be the monster responsible for the gruesome murders?

I blame Bijou… while she’s hot, I have this feeling that she’s a flippin’ biotch. I don’t like her. There, I said it. And I think she has cursed this film. But enough with my theories. Be sure to see for yourself if IT’S ALIVE is as crappy as I’m sure it will be on DVD October 6. Just in time for Halloween…

Bijou Phillips is one classy lady.
