Jessica Lange joins Elizabeth Olsen, Glenn Close and Oscar Isaac in Therese Raquin

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Fresh in the minds of everyone who watched “American Horror Story” as the bitchy, slap-worthy, downright sinister neighbor from hell, Jessica Lange is back on the A-list. Her next high-profile gig (aside from returning for the second season of AHS, of course) is THERESE RAQUIN, a classic story of betrayal, murder and the supernatural. The film is attracting lots of top-tier talent, and Lange is just the latest.

Lange joins Glenn Close, Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac and Tom Felton. Charlie Stratton adapted the play by Émile Zola and will direct the film. Mickey Liddell produces and his LD Distribution will distribute.

THERESE RAQUIN focuses on Thérèse (Olsen), who is trapped in a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Felton). The numbing tedium of her life is suddenly shattered when she embarks on a turbulent affair with her husband’s earthy friend Laurent, but their animal passion for each other soon compels the lovers to murder Camille… whose spirit later haunts them and drives them mad.

Unsure when this flick is officially entering production, but we’re keeping an eye on its ghostly developments and will keep you informed.

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Lange has actually replaced Glenn Close. Waiting to see what the final word is…
